Hardy
Now based in Sydney, trumpeter Todd Hardy has reconnected with the city’s vibrant Jazz scene after several years on the Gold Coast. Since returning, he has performed with David Campbell, appeared at the Sydney Opera House with Marcia Hines and Casey Donovan, featured at the 2025 Manly Jazz Festival, and recorded for Baz Luhrmann.
A dynamic and expressive musician, Todd draws inspiration from Louis Armstrong, Lee Morgan and Chet Baker, blending the warmth of classic swing with the energy and sophistication of 1960s post-bop. His sound reflects both a deep respect for tradition and a fresh, modern sensibility.Throughout his career, Todd has performed widely across Australia, leading his own ensembles and collaborating with many of the country’s leading Jazz artists. He has also appeared on national television and recorded with Grace Knight, Judy Bailey, Nicky Parrott, Dan Barnett and Jimmy Barnes.
